Paintings
My work examines beauty, fear and the aw-inspiring symbolized through visions of epic natural events.
The paintings and drawings pull together the external and internal idea of the catastrophic – what I feel and observe in the world around me.
From this vantage point the physicality of painting confronts specifically the looming angst toward cataclysmic events. This preoccupation with catastrophic scenarios reveals a fascination for opposing forces: good and bad, terrifying and wonderful, beautiful and ugly.
By interlacing a system of perceived opposites my paintings reach a state of rhythmical divergence.
My work portrays a symbolic landscape imbued with the complexity of the psyche. It examines the power of the human condition through the orchestration of visual elements– formulating a poetic response to the multifaceted human disposition.
